Meeting with Congressman John Olver

A four-member delegate of Western Massachusetts Darfur Coalition met with Congressman John Olver on 4/12 to discuss development in Darfur.
The group adapted the Congressman on the latest development in Darfur including the good news of releasing the Darfurain opposition leader Mr. Abuelgasim Ahmaed Abulegasim.
The coalition also voiced concern about the increasing 'collaboration' between the CIA and the Sudanese Security Apparatus, which is the main perpetrator body in the ongoing killing, torture in Darfur.
In regard to the Coalition request for helping to grant Darfurain refugees in Chad and Egypt a resettlement status, Mr. Olver was very pessimistic in making any help in this area.

The one hour meeting ended with a promise to follow-up and to submit information requested by the Congressman to his aid Jon Niedzielski.
Mr. Olver wanted to know more information about Sudan such as the population distribution in Sudan, and unexplored oil maps.
